释义 | McCutcheon, John TinneyMcCutcheon, John Tinney(məkŭch`ən), 1870–1949, American cartoonist, b. Tippecanoe co., Ind. He had been associated with the Chicago Record and Record-Herald when in 1903 he joined the staff of the Chicago Tribune, remaining with that paper until he retired (1945). He was war correspondent during the Spanish-American and Boer wars, during the Mexican expedition in 1914, and during World War I. In 1931 he won the Pulitzer Prize for one of his cartoons, A Wise Economist Asks a Question. Several collections of his cartoons have been published. |
