Location:Northeast of Redding on Highway 89 near Burney, 6 miles north of Highway 299.
Facilities:128 family campsites (no hookups), 7 primitive campsites, showers, restrooms, picnic areas,hiking trails (5 miles), boat ramps, boatrentals, fishing pier, visitor center, food service, supplies (é).
Activities:Camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, boating, water-skiing, horseback riding, wildlife viewing.
Special Features:Park is located on the eastern edge of the Cascade Mountains, on theModoc plateau halfway between Mount Shasta and Lassen Peak. The park'scenterpiece is a 129-foot-high waterfall, flowing at 100 milliongallons of water a day. Additional water emerges from springs acrossthe face of the falls, which joins to create a mist-filled basin oflush, green vegetation. A section of the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trailpasses through the park (see entry in national trails section).
