Michigan cut Michigan cut[′mich·ə·gən ¦kət] (mining engineering) A technique used to break off ore at a heading; a large hole or series of small holes at the center of the heading are drilled parallel to the tunnel direction but not charged with explosive; other holes are drilled in the heading and charged so that upon detonation they break out toward the uncharged holes. |
