Niman

 

a river in Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR, forming part of the border between the Krai and Amur Oblast; a right tributary of the Bureia River (Amur basin). It is 353 km long and drains an area of 16,500 sq km.

The Niman originates in the spurs of the Ezop Range. It is full of rapids and is fed primarily by rain. High water lasts from April through September; the river is at its shallowest in winter. The mean flow rate 12 km from the mouth is 224 cu m per sec, with a maximum of 5,030 cu m per sec and a minimum of 0.08 cu m per sec.
