Miagkaia Rukhliad
Miagkaia Rukhliad’
literally “soft stuff,” a term used for furs from the 15th through the early 18th century in Russia. In addition to being a commodity, miagkaia rukhliad served as an equivalent to currency. It was used by the tsarist government for bestowing gifts and rewards on the sluzhilye liudi (military service class) and foreigners.
