Laurel Lake Wildlife Management Area
Location:7 miles east of Lenore, in the southwest corner of the state.
Facilities:Picnic areas, picnic shelters, rental paddleboats, hiking trails, swimming pool, playgrounds.
Activities:Swimming, hiking, hunting, boating, fishing.
Special Features:Area's slopes are steep and its ridges and valleys narrow. Dogwood and rhododendron, the state flower, are common. The forest surrounding the lake is full of predators such as fox, owl, and raptors.
