National Ethics Law for Central Government Public Servants National Ethics Law for Central Government Public ServantsLegislation in Japan, enacted in 2000, prohibiting civil servants from excessive socialization with the companies they regulate. It explicitly prohibits private companies from taking civil servants out to dinner. Previously, using personal friendships in regulation was assumed to be part of the way the system worked. The law established the National Public Service Ethics Board for interpretation and enforcement. |
