maximum tolerable period of disruption

maximum tolerable period of disruption

A concept which appeared with the introduction of British Standard 25999-2, published in 2007, and defined as the “duration after which an organisation’s viability will be irrevocably threatened if product and service delivery cannot be resumed.” Put simply, MTPOD is the maximum amount of time that the organisation’s key products or services can be unavailable or undeliverable before its stakeholders realise unacceptable consequences.
