Orin-Nur

 

(also Cha-ling hu, O-ling hai, O-ling-no-erh, Oringnor), a lake in China, in the northeast Tibetan Highland. Measuring 40 km long and up to 30 km wide, it is situated at an elevation of 4,237 m. The Huang Ho flows through the lake, which abounds in fish. Orin-Nur was first investigated in 1884 by the Russian explorer N. M. Przheval’skii.
