Location:1.5 miles south of Jefferson on US 221.

Special Features:Mount Jefferson has been designated a National Natural Landmark because of its unusual plant life. This high-altitude, deciduous forest includes one of the most diverse offerings of trees, shrubs, and wildflowers in the eastern United States. Visitors can hike the 0.3-mile Summit Trail to the top of 4,684-foot Mount Jefferson.
