Location:In Morrow County near the center of the state.
Facilities:65 campsites (59 with electricity), 2 camper cabins, group camp, picnic areas, picnic shelters, hiking trails (6 miles), bridle trails, boat rentals, boat ramps, game courts, playground, amphitheater, gazebo.
Activities:Camping, boating (electric motors only), canoeing, fishing, hiking, sledding, ice skating, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, horseback riding.
Special Features:In the vicinity of Mount Gilead, three end moraines (linear ridges of glacial sediment deposited along the ice edge) converged and account for the rolling terrain seen there today. The first lake here was built in 1919 on the upper level of Sam's Creek. In 1930, a larger lake was completed below the first one on the same tributary of Whetstone Creek.
