Nikolai Langovoi
Langovoi, Nikolai Petrovich
Born 1860 in Moscow; died 1920. Russian scientist specializing in textiles.
Langovoi graduated from Moscow University in 1882 and from the St. Petersburg Institute of Technology in 1885. He started teaching at the institute in 1888 and became a professor there in 1891. He became vice-director of the Department of Commerce and Manufacturing in 1896. Langovoi’s major works were devoted to the technology of fibrous materials; they included a theory for winding on spinning machines and studies of weaving.
