Moundou

a city on the Logone River in the Republic of Chad; the capital of the Occidental Logone Prefecture. Population, 39,600 (1972). Moundou is the center of a cotton-growing region. It has enterprises of the food industry (a cotton-oil mill and a brewery), a cigarette factory, and a bicycle and motor assembly plant. The city is the site of a steam power plant and an airport.
