Moulmein

a city in Burma. Capital of the Tenasserim division. Population, 190,000 (1970). Moulmein has a major railroad station. Industries include a sawmill, a rice hulling plant, ship repair facilities, and a textile factory; handicrafts are also prominent. Tin, tungsten, rubber, rice, and teak, and other timber products are exported. Moulmein is a fishing port on the Gulf of Martaban in the Andaman Sea.
