Off-budget Federal entities Off-budget Federal entitiesFederally owned and controlled entities whose transactions are excluded from the budget totals under provisions of law. Their receipts, outlays, and surplus or deficit are not included in budget receipts, outlays or deficits. Their budget authority is not included in totals of the budget.Off-Budget Federal EntitiesOrganizations under the jurisdiction of the United States federal government with budgets that are not included in the federal budget. That is, the revenue and outlays of off-budget federal entities are not considered when calculating the federal budget and whether it is in deficit or surplus. Currently, the United States Post Office and the Social Security trust fund are both off-budget federal entities. |
