Location:4 miles south of Sun City, off US 301 on Lightfoot Road.
Facilities:34 full-facility campsites, 4 of which are specifically designed forhorse camping, youth/group camping area, primitive camping, picnicarea, pavilions, playground, hiking trails (6.5 miles), equestriantrail (8 miles), canoe rental, restrooms (é).
Activities:Camping, canoeing, freshwater fishing, hiking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Little Manatee River begins in a swampy area east of Fort Lonesome insoutheastern Hillsborough County and flows about 40 miles beforeemptying into Tampa Bay. The river has been designated an OutstandingFlorida Water and is part of the Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve.
