A cell, ranging from 7 to 15 µm in diameter, which is round or ovoid, often with a notched or slightly indented nucleus, diffuse dense chromatin, indistinct nucleoli, and a perinuclear clear zone that surrounds the nucleus as a halo in some cells. The cytoplasm stains light blue and ranges from sparse to moderately abundant; it may contain a few, usually unevenly distributed, pink azurophilic granules. The N:C ratio is 5:7 to 2:1.
