Matting Machine

a machine that ties rye straw, reed, and other long-stemmed plants into matting. The MVM-250 matting machine, which is used in the USSR, produces matting in the form of a continuous band that is cut into the necessary lengths. The machine is driven by a 2.8 kwt electrical motor. It produces 100-250 m/hr of matting depending on the thickness and the spacing of the stitches. The matting is 1,250 mm wide and 25-60 mm thick.
