Metricheskie Knigi

 

in prerevolutionary Russia, registers in which information on civil status was recorded. After the October Revolution of 1917, metricheskie knigi were kept until the adoption of the 1918 law code on documents of civil status. In the USSR marriages, births, and deaths are entered in the aktovye knigi (registers) at the offices of civil registry (ZAGS).
