An addictive amphetamine-like designer drug that is ingested or inhaled. Its use has been associated with hallucinations, paranoid ideation, and, on occasion, violent behavior. In September 2011, the Drug Enforcement Administration exercised its emergency scheduling authority to ban possession and sale of MDPV for 12 months while it determines whether MDPV should be permanently banned.
