National Securities Clearing Corporation

A subsidiary of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation. The NSCC is a clearing house that provides settlement services for securities traded on the American Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. It also provides services for FINRA. It operates settlement according to continuous net settlement practices.

A subsidiary of the National Association of Securities Dealers through which transactions in the over-the-counter market are compared by broker-dealers. The National Clearing Corporation is similar in concept to the Securities Industry Automation Corporation, which is used for comparisons of exchange transactions.
