Nikanor Chronicle

a Russian chronicle of the late 15th century, named after the owner of one of the manuscript copies, Nikanor, archimandrite of the Voskresensk Monastery in Novyi Ierusalim. The chronicle has survived in two manuscript copies from the 1680’s. The Nikanor Chronicle describes events from Russian history from the ninth century through 1471. Its sources were the old redaction of the First Sofia Chronicle (covering events to 1416) and the Moscow Codex of 1472 or later compilations (for events of 1408 and 1420 through 1471).
