Lisakovsk

a city in Kustanai Oblast, Kazakh SSR, situated on the right bank of the Tobol River (a tributary of the Irtysh). Railroad station 25 km from the Tobol railroad junction and 123 km southwest of Kustanai. Population, 24,000 (1972). The Lisa-kovsk iron ore deposit was discovered in 1949. A mining and concentrating combine was under construction in 1973. Lisa-kovsk has enterprises producing building materials. There is a construction technicum.
