meter-atmosphere

[′mēd·ər ′at·mə‚sfir] (physics) The depth of an equivalent atmosphere of a given gas, in meter-atmospheres, is equal to the depth in meters that the atmosphere would have if it were composed entirely of the gas in question and in the same amount as exists in the actual atmosphere, and had a uniform temperature and pressure of 0°C and 1 standard atmosphere. Abbreviated m-atm. Also known as atmo-meter.
