Established: 1943.
Location:On the eastern shore of Lake Champlain near the Canadian border, 40 miles north of Burlington, Vermont.
Facilities:Visitor contact station, viewing sites, nature trails, boat launch.
Activities:Boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking, hunting, educational programs.
Special Features:Refuge lands also protect the Shad Island great blue heron rookery, one of the largest such colonies in Vermont.
Habitats: 6,642 acres of Missisquoi River delta.
Access: Open from dawn to dusk.
Wild life: American woodcock, great blue heron, bobolink. black tern, osprey, and white tailed deer.
