Special Features:Park is Michigan's first state park and one of three state sitesoperated by Mackinac State Historic Parks. The park recreates lifein the 1700s and early 1800s and features Fort Mackinac (built in1780), Michigan's only revolutionary war-era fort. Other attractions onthe island include a nature center, a scenic shoreline road, and inlandtrails with view of unusual geological formations. Cars are notpermitted on the island.
