MacKerricher State Park
Location:3 miles north of Fort Bragg on Highway 1, near the town of Cleone.
Facilities:139 developed family campsites (tent or RV; 8 sites @di), 10 walk-in campsites,showers and restrooms, picnic area, hiking and bike trails, horsetrails, nature trail (é), visitor center (é).
Activities:Camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, wildife viewing.
Special Features:Park encompasses 8 miles of beach and bluff, headland, dune, forest,and wetlands habitats. At one time the park was part of the MendocinoIndian Reservation as well as a part of the Union Lumber Company.During winter and spring, the park's headland offers a great vantagepoint to view migrating whales.
