(lip'ō-prō'tēn al'fă) A lipoprotein consisting of an low-density lipoprotein particle to which a large glycoprotein, apolipoprotein (α), is covalently bonded. Elevation of the concentration in serum has been identified as a risk factor for coronary artery disease.
