landing gear warning system

A warning system incorporated into most retractable landing gear aircraft to warn the pilot of an unsafe landing gear position. The warning is usually in the form of a warning light and a warning horn. The horn blows and the light comes on when one or more throttles are brought back fully and the landing gear is in any other position than fully down. In some aircraft, an audio warning is sounded when the throttle is brought back below a certain position and the landing gear is not down.
