MacDougall diet

MacDougall diet

Alternative nutrition
A diet formulated by Roger McDougall, a victim of multiple sclerosis, which he credited with freeing him of symptoms. The diet is devoid of gluten (wheat, oats, barley and rye), fatty meats (e.g., bacon, pork, water fowl), alcohol and soft drinks; refined sugars and saturated fats (butter, cream, rich cheeses) are reduced to a minimum. The diet is supplemented with large doses of vitamins B, C and E, lecithin, calcium and magnesium.
