(operating system)(LILO) A boot loader for Linux. LILOdoes not depend on a specific file system, it can boot Linuxkernel images from floppy disks and hard disks and caneven boot other operating systems. One of up to sixteendifferernt images can be selected at boot time. Variousparameters, such as the root device, can be setindependantly for each kernel. LILO can even be used as themaster boot record.
