Anisimov, Nikolai Andreevich

 

Born May 12, 1892, in Orlov Province; died Jan. 25, 1920. Participated in the struggle for Soviet power in the Northern Caucasus. Member of the Communist Party from 1913.

From 1914 to 1918, Anisimov was one of the leaders of the Groznyi Bolshevik organization. After the February Revolution of 1917, he was chairman of the Groznyi soviet. He was a delegate to the sixth congress of the RSDLP (Bolshevik) and the Second All-Russian Congress of Soviets. From December 1917 he served as chairman of the Military Revolutionary Committee of the Stavropol’ garrison. From 1918 he was engaged in responsible military-political work in the Red Army: he was military commissar of Stavropol’ Province, military-political commissar of the Briansk Raion, commissar of the Northern Caucasus military district, representative of this district’s military council in Astrakhan, and member of the Revolutionary War Council of the Caspian-Caucasian front, the Eleventh, Twelfth, and Ninth Armies.
