Lin Sen

Lin Sen

(lĭn sŭn), 1868–1943, president of China (1932–43). He was an anti-Manchu revolutionary, overseas organizer for the Kuomintang, and parliamentarian. For a time after the death of Sun Yat-sen, he was in rightist opposition to Chiang Kai-shek. Politically Lin was unimportant, and his appointment to the essentially honorary office of president was a personal tribute. Lin's successor was Chiang Kai-shek.
