neuronavigation (nū″rō-năv″ĭ-gā′shŭn) Radiological guidance for neurosurgery. The surgeon may rely on information obtained from ultrasonic images (“sononavigation”), magnetic resonance images, PET scans, or CT data, to select tissues for excision while avoiding eloquent (speech-controlling) regions of the brain. |
