misleading price

an indication in the course of a business of the price of goods which is or later becomes misleading and which is criminalized. A price is misleading if it conveys or might imply that the price is less than it is, that it depends on some other facts, depends on a charge being made, that a price alteration is imminent when no genuine belief that it is or where facts stated for comparison are not accurate. The rules relate to the price of credit, banking and insurance, foreign currency, electricity, car parks, caravans and new house sales. Defences are available including one of due diligence.
