binomial experiment n (Statistics) statistics an experiment consisting of a fixed number of independent trials each with two possible outcomes, success and failure, and the same probability of success. The probability of a given number of successes is described by a binominal distribution. See also Bernoulli trial binomial experiment
binomial experiment An experiment with a fixed number of independent trials. In a binomial experiment, each trial can only have 2 possible outcomes (yes/no), which means that probability of each outcome remains constant from one trial to the next. |
