Muscat Festival

January to FebruaryMuscat Festival has been sponsored annually since 1998 by the municipal government of Muscat, Oman. It takes place over several weeks in late January and early February. The festival is a showcase of Oman's traditional Arabian arts and culture, with a wide array of performances, exhibitions, sports, and children's activities, as well as such modern spectacles as a Formula 2 powerboat championship race. Over the course of the festival, which takes place at indoor and outdoor venues all over the city, as many as three million people take part.
