Operational Condition
Operational Condition
the condition a technical device or product is in when it properly performs its required functions. A device is considered in operational condition when its principal parameters are within assigned technical specifications; reserve parameters do not affect the operational condition of a device. A radio receiver, for example, is operational if it consistently receives radio signals in a specified frequency range and only the tuning indicator lamp is not functioning. A device is in working order if all its parameters are within established limits. Failure causes a shift from an operational condition to a nonoperational condition.
