Location:Located on the northeast side of Lake Tahoe, between parcels of Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest (see entry in national forests chapter).
Facilities:2 primitive backcountry campsites (hike-in), picnic areas (é),group use areas, restrooms, nature trails (é), backcountry trails,ski trails, swimming beaches, boat launch facilities, concession services(seasonal bike and ski rentals, bike tours, snacks, cabin rentals),visitorcenter, scenic overlooks.
Activities:Boating, fishing, hunting (with restrictions), swimming, scuba diving,hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing.
Special Features:Park consists of several different units, including Sand Harbor,Spooner Lake, Cave Rock, Memorial Point, and Hidden Beach. The majorityof the park is backcountry, spanning 13,000 acres within the CarsonRange, stretching north from Spooner Lake to Incline Village. Theextensive backcountry trail system offers exceptional opportunities forhiking, biking, and horseback riding.
