Location:12 miles north and 2 miles east of Arlington, off US 81.
Facilities:151 modern campsites (89 with electrical hookups), camping cabin, comfort station with showers, picnic areas, hiking trail, swimming beach, boat launch, fishing dock, playground (é).
Activities:Camping, boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, jet skiing, hiking, cross-country skiing, junior naturalist program, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Lake Poinsett is one of the largest lakes in the state and was named after Secretary of War Joel Poinsett, who was instrumental in promoting the expedition that first explored this region.
