massively parallel computing

High-performance computing based on parallel processing algorithms and applications executed simultaneously by many separate processors. In MPC, a large number of processors, or discrete computers, perform a set of co-ordinated computations in parallel.
A disadvanrage to this design is that computations are sequential, a problem which is solved by arrays of molecular switches that act simultaneously, simulating the activity of the central nervous system.
