Novokhopersk

a city; center of Novokhopersk Raion, Voronezh Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the right bank of the Khoper River (a tributary of the Don), 5 km from the Novokhopersk railroad station (on the Georgiu-Dezh-Povorino line). Novokhopersk has a creamery, a cheese dairy, wood-products and food-processing plants, and a building-materials plant. The city was founded in 1710 as a fortified post.
