Mir-Bashir
Mir-Bashir
a city (since 1949) and center of Mir-Bashir Raion, Azerbaijan SSR. It is located on the right bank of the Terter River (a tributary of the Kura), 18 km southwest of the Barda railroad station, to which it is connected by highway. Population, 8,800 (1970). Butter and cheese are produced. Petroleum is extracted nearby. Mir-Bashir was named in honor of M. B. Kasumov.
