Moroch

Moroch’

 

(Kopanka), a river in Minsk Oblast, Byelorussian SSR; a right tributary of the Sluch’ river in the Pripiat’-Dnieper basin. Length, 150 km; basin area, 2,300 sq km. The river originates in the Kopyl’ Ridge and is fed primarily by snows. High water occurs in March and April. The mean flow rate at 113 km from the mouth of the river is 1.29 cu m per sec. Summer and autumn rains cause flash flooding. The Moroch’ freezes over in December and thaws in March or early April. It is used for floating.
