Web: www.merrittparkway.org Description:Parkway was developed and designed with styles representative of American tastes of the 1930's with the idea of integrating the traveled way, roadside, and adjoining landscape together into a natural setting. It is one of the only roads listed on the National Register of Historic Places and includes a number of places along the way related to nature reservation, including the Audubon Center in Greenwich, with 15 miles of hiking trails and more than 500 acres of woodlands and meadows, and the 63-acre Bartlett Arboretum in North Stamford.
Legth: 37 miles. Start/Endpoint: Includes the portion of SR 15 from the New York state linenorth to the Sikorsky Bridge, which crosses the Housatonic River, at the Stratford-Milford town line. Time to Allow: 1 hour. Designation/Year: National Scenic Byway (1996).
