Minusinsk Horse

Minusinsk Horse

a steppe horse used for a variety of purposes; it has been bred for a long time in the Minusinsk Basin, in what is now the Khakass Autonomous Oblast. It differs from other steppe breeds of Asiatic horses by its more pleasing appearance and its massiveness. The Minusinsk horse is small, strong, hardy, easy to take care of, and adapted to being raised in herds. It adapts well to winter grazing. It serves as a riding, harness, and (in the taiga) pack horse.
