Oliutorka Gulf
Oliutorka Gulf
a gulf of the Bering Sea off the northeastern coast of Kamchatka, between the Govena and Oliutorka peninsulas. It measures 228 km wide at the entrance and extends 83 km into the mainland, forming the Lavrov and Somnenie bays. Its southern section reaches a depth of 1,000 m. The tides are irregular and semidiurnal, measuring 0.3–1.9 m. The ice that forms in the middle section is unstable. From December through May there is fast ice at the shores.
