One-Step

a ballroom dance that originated in North America in the early 20th century. The one-step, which was popular in Europe in the 1920’s, was danced in 2/4 time at the pace of a brisk walk. It developed from the simplified movements of the twostep and later fell out of fashion as a result of the popularity of the fox-trot.
