Marylebone Spiritualist Association
(religion, spiritualism, and occult)Marylebone Spiritualist Association is one of the oldest Spiritualist organizations in the world and also one of the largest. The headquarters is located in London’s Belgrave Square. Founded in 1872, its purpose is to study psychic phenomena and disseminate information and evidence obtained through its mediums. By 1960, the association changed its name to the Spiritualist Association of Great Britain. It has more than 200,000 visitors per year. Today it holds séances and does spiritual healing, and its headquarters contains a chapel, library, meeting hall, prayer rooms, and meditation rooms.
The association organizes what is billed as “the world’s largest séance” at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Held on November 11—Armistice Day in Great Britain—it enables thousands of people to hear the top mediums convey messages from those who died in the two World Wars.
