Muna
Muna
an island in the Greater Sundas, near the southeastern tip of the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. Area, approximately 3,000 sq km. Maximum elevations to 445 m. In the northwest, Muna is composed of sandstones, limestones, and clays. In the south, it primarily consists of coral limestones, and there are karst formations. There are coral reefs along the southwestern shores. The island is covered with equatorial evergreen forests. Tropical farming is practiced. The main settlement is Raha.
Muna
a river in Yakut ASSR, a left tributary of the Lena River. It measures 715 km long and drains an area of 30,100 sq km. The Muna has two sources, the Orto-Muna and Ulakhan-Muna, and flows in a deep valley along the northeastern edge of the Middle Siberian Plateau. In its lower course it meanders greatly. It is fed by snow and rain. High water lasts from late May through June, with freshets in the summer. The river is frozen from December to early May.
